The Blob Game Database

This is a publicly editable wiki for games containing blobs with eyes. Usually the player is in control of the blob(s), though there is a separate section for games which heavily features blobs as secondary characters.

Blobs have been a favoured protagonist of games developers for decades. This page aims to unite those blob games. Hopefully we'll all find out about games we've not played before. :-) Go ahead and add your own!

Commercial Games

Blobs seemed to be most popular during the 80s and 90s (the 16-bit era) - so you might need emulators to play some of these games. Generally the games are easy to find on Google. We don't link to roms unless they are on abandon-ware sites.

Player As Blob

Platform Games

Globdule (Amiga) - control a purple blob of goo. Stick to walls!
Putty (Amiga) - Stretch, inflate and rescue robots from a tower.
Super Putty Squad (SNES)

Blobs As Characters

Puzzle Games

Hebereke's Popoitto/Popoon (SNES) - Arrange falling coloured blobs.
Puyo Puyo Series (Various) - Arrange falling coloured blobs. Highly recommended.

Roleplay Games

Dragon Quest Series (Various) - Very popular Japanese RPGs. With blobs.

Games which don't quite fit

These games aren't blob games, but damn close. Usually the blob is furry. Is a furry blob still a blob? I don't know.

Fuzzball (Amiga) - Furry blob shoots blobs at blobs to knock them off the level. VERY hard.
Fury Of The Furries (Amiga/DOS) Great puzzle-platformer. 4 fuzzballs each with different skills.

Homebrew / Indy Games

Some of these games may not be complete.

Card Master Conflict Java based Applet - Has many Blob cards.

Gish (Windows/osX/Linux) - Incredible next generation 2d blob game!

More About Blobs

Playing The Games

Any games with ⇔ by them are available to play from the included links.
DOS games are old PC software which can be ran on a Mac or PC using DOSBox
To run Amiga games I suggest WinUAE for Windows or E-UAE on the Mac. You WILL need Amiga kickstart ROMs - I don't provide them. They're illegal to copy, but you can buy legal ones from Cloanto
To run SNES games I recommend ZSNES on Windows and Snes9x for Mac.
